Pain Polyclinic (Algology)
Pain, which is defined by the International Organization for Pain Studies in 1979 as "an unpleasant sensation originating from any part of the body, including all the past experiences of the person, whether due to an organic cause or not", is an experience that every person faces throughout his life.
Pain is dealt with in two groups. The first is acute (venereal) pain, a harbinger of various diseases. Acute pain is a symptom of disease and a harbinger of tissue damage in the body. It can also be called the body's alarm system for acute pain.
Chronic (continuous) pain is the second type of pain. Chronic pain is pain that lasts longer than 6 months (in some cases, 3 months). Chronic pain is not a sign of disease, it is a problem.
Our Pain Management department ensures that patients with pain are diagnosed accurately and quickly and treated. Our department, which provides diagnosis and treatment with a multidisciplinary approach, applies all methods used in the treatment of chronic pain.
In particular, many advanced treatment applications such as pain treatment applications with interventional methods, nerve blocks using radio waves, insertion of permanent morphine pumps or spinal cord batteries, injections applied in lumbar and neck hernias, injections into the disc, permanent port-pump systems are also performed.
