Wound Care Center

Chronic wounds are called wounds whose healing is delayed due to several underlying problems, do not show normal healing stages, usually take more than three months to heal, and do not respond well to treatment. Chronic wounds, which are more common in later ages, are increasing due to the increasing elderly population. Chronic wounds are one of the biggest causes of mortality and morbidity among this age group. In terms of chronic wound development, diabetics, the elderly and obese patients are in the risk group. Although there are many various factors such as the underlying disease, age and care conditions of the person in wound healing disorder, we can talk about the effect of four important factors in particular. These are:

• Insufficient tissue oxygenation

• Tissue damage

• The presence of an underlying disease such as diabetes

• Bacterial infections

Our team, which consists of our specialist doctors and experienced nurses in treating chronic wounds and diabetic foot, aims to apply an effective treatment by evaluating the condition of the patient and the wound well before the treatment of the patient. Our nurses, who are actively involved in the care of the wound with our specialist doctors, have the necessary knowledge and experience about the methods to be applied to predict and prevent complications that may occur and to ensure that the wound heals in a shorter time. With our work, we protect the wound surface and apply methods that accelerate healing.
