Endocrine Surgery
Endocrine glands are organs that deliver the hormones they secrete directly into the bloodstream. The detection of diseases requiring surgery in the endocrine glands and the treatment planning to be applied are carried out by the Endocrine Surgery Department.
What are the diseases that are examined and treated?
- Diseases of the thyroid gland (nodular goitre, thyroid cancers, etc.)
- Diseases of the parathyroid gland (adenoma, hyperplasia and the like)
- Adrenal gland diseases (cancer, adenoma and so on)
Significant advances have been made in the surgical treatment of diseases of these organs in recent years. In the Endocrine Surgery department of our hospital, thyroid and parathyroid surgeries can be performed with minimally invasive procedures with very small incisions with less bleeding and complications. Safety is increased by nerve monitoring when necessary. In addition, radioactive material marking is used in parathyroid surgeries. Adrenal gland surgeries can also be performed open and laparoscopically.
