Prof. Dr. Murat Arslan has been actively involved in laparoscopic education and training with the Turkurolap Group, the Turkish Association of Urology, and the International Robotic and Laparoscopic Surgery Association (ILRSA) since 2005. Over the past 14 years, he has provided basic and advanced laparoscopic training to over 1200 urology residents and specialists worldwide at national and international congresses and courses. Dr. Arslan has participated as an instructor in numerous symposia, national and international congresses, performing live surgeries to teach participants in the fields of laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, pyeloplasty, nephrectomy, adrenalectomy using retroperitoneal, transperitoneal, and U-LESS approaches, retrograde intrarenal surgery using flexible ureterorenoscopy, and HoLEP (Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate).
Dr. Arslan has been appointed as an instructor and consultant in E-BLUS (European Basic Laparoscopic Urological Skills) training sessions at various national and international meetings, and he has been a member of the EUREP (European Urology Residents Education Programme) Hands-on Training (HOT) team since 2017. He obtained the European Board of Urology Qualification (FEBU) in 2008 and holds memberships in several urological societies. He currently serves as the General Secretary of the Turkish Association of Urology, Ege Branch, and is the Vice President of ILRSA, previously serving as its General Secretary. Since December 2019, he has been working as a professor of urology at Istanbul Okan University Hospital.
