How Many Months of Pregnancy Can Sexual Life Continue?

How Many Months of Pregnancy Can Sexual Life Continue?

How sustainable the sexual life is while pregnant is one of the most curious and most worrying issues for expectant mothers.

How their sex lives will change during the pregnancy, what they should do and should not do while maintaining their sex lives, and the effects of maintaining their sex life on the baby are always a matter of curiosity.

However, it has been revealed that these concerns are unnecessary due to scientific research. It has been seen that sexual life is not a situation that will cause anxiety during any week of pregnancy. In other words, it is not based on a medical reason that there is a premature birth after sexual intercourse and miscarriage at an early gestational week or a sexual life that continues during pregnancy.

And also, the question of "how long can sexual intercourse continue during pregnancy?" is one of the questions that every expectant mother has in mind.

As a short and clear answer, we can say that expectant mothers can have sexual intercourse at all stages of pregnancy unless their doctors give a special warning.

Having sexual intercourse only in the first three months of pregnancy is prohibited by doctors from time to time to eliminate the risk of miscarriage. Since pregnancy symptoms are already quite intense, sexual pleasure can be postponed for the first three months.

In addition, after the 36th and 37th week, it may be necessary to limit couples to maintain sexual life due to physical changes. In other words, the sexual intercourse experienced in recent weeks can become more torment than pleasure.

In summary, if the pregnancy period continues normally if the expectant mother feels well and has the necessary motivation to experience sexuality, it is not dangerous for her to experience this.

The situations in which having sexual intercourse during pregnancy can be harmful are as follows;

-Vaginal bleeding,

-Premature opening of the cervix,

-Leakage of amniotic fluid,

-The risk of giving birth prematurely,

-Having previously had a premature birth or miscarriage,

-Closure of the cervical cavity by the placenta,

- and multiple pregnancies.

Apart from these situations, pregnancy is not an obstacle to sexual intercourse. Having sexual intercourse during pregnancy has benefits in terms of relaxing, enjoying, and preparing for childbirth.

In addition, doing Kagel exercise during sex will allow you to recover faster after childbirth, enjoy more with your partner, and reduce the likelihood of tearing.

In addition, It is known that the sexual relationship experienced during pregnancy makes the spouses emotionally closer to each other, thereby reducing the tension that the expectant mother experiences while trying to get used to the changes in her body and making the intercourse even more special.

As the pregnancy progresses, the expectant mother's need for affection and love also increases, so the desire for sensual contact arises even more. But the important thing is that the man does not perceive this only as a sexual desire. Both parties should realize that sexual pleasure does not consist of intercourse. They should know that satisfaction can be achieved by experiencing it with options such as oral sex, masturbation, and massage.
