Prof. MD. Selçuk Mercan

Prof. Dr. Selçuk Mercan was born in 1952. He graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 1977. In 1982, Prof. Dr. Selçuk Mercan completed his doctoral studies in the Department of General Surgery at the same university. He obtained the title of Associate Professor in the Department of General Surgery at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 1988 and became a Professor in 1995.

Between 1978 and 1982, he served as a Research Assistant in the Department of General Surgery at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine. From 1984 to 1987, he continued his duties as the Chief Physician at Ayancık State Hospital. Starting in 1987, he held various positions at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine, including Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Department Chair, and Professor in the Department of General Surgery.

He currently serves as a Professor at Istanbul Okan University Hospital and also holds the position of Deputy Dean.
