Specialist Dr. Hidayet Demir

Dr. Hidayet Demir graduated from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 2013 and then started his residency training in Cardiovascular Surgery at Kartal Koşuyolu Higher Specialized Educational Research Hospital. In 2018, he worked as an observer at London Harefield Hospital in England, and during this period he had studies related to coronary bypass surgeries in the heart. In 2019, he was assigned to Ağrı State Hospital to perform his compulsory service. During his work in there, Ağrı State Hospital got the title of İbrahim Çeçen University Training and Research Hospital. He played an active role in the initiation of the hospital's open-heart surgeries. By initiating the first open heart surgery and percutaneous peripheral interventions, he turned this place into an active center. He became a pioneer in Turkey in this field by working on City Ambulance, of which he is the founder, and in health services, making the patients unsuitable for transfer, with ECMO and IABP on-site practices to pave the way for air and road transport of patients with advanced lung failure and hemodynamic instability. He conducted on-site ECMO applications and transport ECMO studies to conduct follow-up and treatment of patients with post-Covid pulmonary insufficiency from outside the country. His dissertation was on Pulmonary Thromboendarterectomy surgeries. He also wrote a book chapter on this subject. He gained experience by receiving advanced training on peripheral percutaneous interventions, heart transplantation and artificial heart, coronary bypass operations on the beating heart. As of the end of 2021, he started working in the Cardiovascular Surgery department of Istanbul Okan University Hospital.
