Prof. Abut Kebudi M.D.

Dr. Abut Kebudi graduated from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty in 1981. In 1988, he completed his specialization in the Department of General Surgery at Istanbul University, Istanbul Medical Faculty, becoming a General Surgery specialist. Subsequently, he worked as a General Surgeon at Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital. He completed his military service as a Medical Lieutenant at Çorlu Military Hospital from 1990 to 1992. In 1992, he worked on Laparoscopic Surgery and Oncological Surgery (particularly breast cancer) at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He continued his career at Istanbul Medical Faculty, Department of General Surgery, focusing on Laparoscopic Surgery and Breast Surgery. Additionally, he participated in Surgical Gastroenterology Endoscopy Training Courses and obtained certification in this field.

In 1998, Dr. Abut Kebudi became an Associate Professor of General Surgery, and in 2004, he achieved the rank of Professor. He also holds a subspecialty in Surgical Oncology. He possesses the "European Breast Center (Düsseldorf)" Oncoplastic Breast Surgery Certificate and the "European Board of Surgery Certificate." From 2004 to 2016, he served as a Professor at Maltepe University Medical Faculty, where he held various administrative roles, including Chair of the Department of General Surgery, Head of the Department of Surgical Medical Sciences, Faculty Board Member, Deputy Dean, and President of the Health Law Center (SAHUMER).

Dr. Abut Kebudi's research and practice areas include General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Endocrine Surgery, and particularly Surgical Oncology. He has published approximately 250 scientific papers in national and international journals and presented them at scientific congresses.

He is a member of various organizations, including the American College of Surgeons (ACS), European Association of Endoscopic Surgery, EURAMA (European Asian Society for Breast Disease), Endocrine Surgery Association, Surgical Oncology Association, Turkish Surgical Association, Istanbul Breast Diseases Association, Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgery Association, and the National Trauma and Emergency Surgery Association.

Dr. Abut Kebudi is a founding member of the Marmara Anatolian Side Breast Diseases Continuous Education Meetings (MAYMET) platform, organizing regular regional meetings and annual scientific breast cancer conferences in collaboration with the European Society of Oncology (ESO). He is also the founding member and vice president of SENATÜRK (Senology Academy of Turkey), which conducts national and international studies in Breast Diseases and Surgery. He serves as a board member and scientific committee member for the "International Reconstructive Breast Surgery (IREBS)" course held annually with international faculty members.
