Beware of These 8 Sexually Transmitted Diseases!

Beware of These 8 Sexually Transmitted Diseases!

1. Syphilis

Syphilis is one of the common sexually transmitted diseases. It can be transmitted through lesions in the genital area, anal area, and lips. In the first stage, a wound on the infected part is formed to the periphery. Sometimes swelling of the lymph nodes can also accompany this condition. If ignored, the wound will heal on its own; however, after a stage, the disease will pass into the second stage, so it may resemble different skin diseases. This, in turn, leads to a delay in diagnosis and treatment. The third stage of the disease is organ damage, and this stage can lead to death.

2. Gonorrhea

Gonorrhea, a bacterial disease, is more common at a young age. It is transmitted vaginally, anal, or orally, and the factor that will cause the disease is found in semen and vaginal discharge. Since the finding cannot be seen, it usually spreads unnoticed. Since this disease is transmitted only sexually, the clothes used in common and the toilet used in common again do not affect the spread of this disease. This disease, which can be easily treated with antibiotics as soon as the diagnosis is made, can cause different complications when left untreated.

3. HPV Infection

HPV infection is a bacterial infection that is quite common, which can be transmitted due to direct contact of the skin with another skin. It prefers the genital area. There are various treatment methods, such as electrocautery, cryotherapy, and topical therapy. The treatment process is started and continued according to the prevalence and intensity of the virus, but there is always the possibility that the disease will repeat itself.

4. Herpes (HSV Infection)

When HSV infects a person, it is a virus infection whose activity remains on the tissue for many years. There are two types, Type I and Type II. It can cause diseases on the skin and mucous surfaces. It is transmitted by skin-to-skin contact. There is always a risk of transmission, even when there are no clinical signs. The treatment to be applied is not aimed at destroying the virus. The goal is to soothe the symptom and reduce the risk of its spread.

5. Molluscum Contagiosum

This virus forms small blisters in the middle of the skin. It is transmitted sexually; however, contagiousness is also possible with the common use of common areas and items.

6. Chlamydia

Chlamydia is a fairly common type of infection. The findings may appear within three weeks after sexual intercourse or may follow without symptoms. This infection is diagnosed by evaluating the discharge received from male and female individuals and can be easily treated with antibiotics.

7. Hepatitis B

Hepatitis B can be transmitted by sexual intercourse, using common materials (such as shaving kits, tattoos, and pricing procedures), and passing it to the baby if the mother has it. Since it is not transmitted with saliva, there is no need to pay attention to the use of forks and spoons eaten with food. Protection is provided only by vaccination.

8. Trichomonas

Trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted disease. It is seen in men and women and is more common in middle age. It gives symptoms with burning, tense mood, and yellow and green discharge in the urine within four weeks after sexual intercourse. This disease is diagnosed by testing and treating with antiparasitic drugs.
